Custom Bunny Rabbit Watercolor Paintings

Commission a Painting of Your Pet Bunny Rabbit

Painting the soft textures in a rabbit’s fur is so much fun.  They are such soft, sweet animals.  A few of my friends and family in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas have them as pets and it’s so cool how they can roam around the house just as a cat or dog would.

High Quality Watercolor Paper

Have you ever gotten your child’s artwork back from school and it’s a buckled or wrinkly mess?  That’s becuase they were using thin or low quality paper (as they should in a school when they are practicing).  My watercolor art uses high quality, heavy archival cotton paper.   Watercolor paper is also usually “stretched” before painting, meaning we soak it in water and then let it dry to avoid the paper warping.

How to Care for Your Watercolor Pet Bunny Portrait Art

It is always best to keep your watercolor painting out of the direct sun. You can purchase UV glass to help preserve your painting.  If you are going to frame it with plexiglass or glass, it’s best to keep the painting from touching the glass surface with a mat. Alternatively, you can choose to have your painting coated in a wax medium so that you don’t have to frame it with glass or plexi or a mat.  This option doesn’t have a UV coating, however.

The artwork above was coated with a wax medium then framed with an arched wood frame.  It hangs in a baby girl’s nursery room.
