Unique Kids’ Craft Art Tent Area for Art Festival Event

Fun and Unique Kids’ Art Craft for Festival Event

Hello!  I’m an artist and art teacher with really fun and unique activities for an interactive family art craft area at your next festival or event.  In 2024 and 2025 I sponsored the Kids’ Art Area at Alley Art Fest in Aurora, IL.  The first year I brought my small puppet theater and the kids made collage puppets on popsicle sticks.  After their puppet was done, they played with it in the theater.

Mini Art Museum for Family Art Craft Event Tents

Last year, I brought my 4′ high mini art museum for families to create a miniature artwork.  They had paper and coloring tools to make a mini 2D artwork.  I also had little paper frames so that they could add a frame to their artwork.  Little tubs of Play-Doh were available for anyone who wanted to make a sculpture.  Originally I thought that everyone would want to take their creations home with them and just use the museum as a photo op. (Take a photo of your artwork next to the Mona Lisa!)  To my surprise most kids chose to leave their artworks creating a beautiful collaborative display of community art!  My heart was so happy to see it.

Here is the museum towards the end of the event. The kids really made it their own! They could also rearrange the famous mini artworks I brought along to curate their show.

By the end of the festival, there were artworks covering the inside and outside of the museum.  Some younger attendees came by and squished most of the clay sculptures together towards the end of the event.

Shadow Puppet Art Project for Art Festivals

Also, I’ve brought my 10′ large shadow puppet screen to events.  Kids make a small butterfly or other shadow puppet and fly it across the screen. I’ve used this theater for many different themes.  See a video on my YouTube channel of a space themed project.
